Overclocking: I tried messing a bit with software from AMD, also called AMD overdrive. I tried lowering the HT multiplier, but everything the motherboard froze up and I was forced to do a CMOS reset, so I stopped. Instead I messed around with the bios, set the FSB to 250 MHz and the pc booted without problems. I tried 270 which didn't work, and tried with 260 MHz which worked. This gave an overclock of 2730 MHz which is 630 MHz more than standard without changing the voltage much. I might be able to get some more out of it, but I'm satisfied with my overclock.
The test: For the testing I've used the following hardware:
CPU: AMD X2 4100+ (2.1Ghz) RAM: 2Gb Kingston PC 6400 PSU: Seasonic 500Watt Graphics: INNO 3D 7600GT HD: 2 x WD 300GB in raid 0
For the test, the following has been used:
o PCMark05 o Sisoft Sandra 2007 o Everest Memtest
Here we see the test setup combined:
All tests have been done with an FSB of 200 MHz or 260 MHz, or an OC of about 2.73 GHz.
