Last up, the Hyper Z600 has been tested with both fans installed, two 120mm fans. First the idle temperature:
Disappointingly there’s not much of a difference between using single or dual fans. Let’s see how the load temperatures look.
Picture stays the same, in the tests performed with the mentioned system, using two fans instead of one doesn’t show much difference.
Conclusion: It has been a pleasure reviewing Cooler Masters new air cooler, Hyper Z600. The Hyper Z600 sits in the heavy end of the scale with 1045g of raw cooling profile, and a total of 1285g when using both fans used in the test. We’re not dealing with a small cooler either, undersigned have never had a bigger cooler before. With a lot of surface and quality materials, one would expect the Hyper Z600 to be able to cool the hottest CPU’s out there, but the performance disappoints a little because the Hyper Z600 is beaten in some tests by smaller coolers.
With that said, the Hyper Z600 is still a very nice CPU cooler, supporting most new CPU’s on the market today, and it has no problem passively cooling an E8400 – this is where the Hyper Z600 beats all the other coolers tested by me. By using the dual fan option an increase in performance would be expected, but the tests in this review have shown that the difference between one and two fans isn’t very big if nothing at all. Whether the fans disturb each other’s airflow or not is unknown at this point.
You might think that the noise from a Hyper Z600 with two 120mm fans would be dominating everything, but that’s not true. In fact the cooler stays decently quiet with both fans installed, but this is also because the fans used are low noise fans at 17dBa. Even though the cooler weighs almost 1300g with two fans mounted, the motherboard shows no signs of stress, and undersigned has no problem with recommending the Hyper Z600 to people that might be interested in it but is skeptical about the weight. The Cooler Master Hyper Z600 cooler is yet to be released to the Danish market, but Cooler Master has given us a retail price of about 310,- DKK. At that price, the Hyper Z600 is placed in the middle of the price range and this seems as a decent price.
