The test: Game tests were done with Company of Heroes, F.E.A.R. and last but not least the always popular Quake 4.
Overclocking: From stock the BFG GeForce 9600 GT OC graphicscard is already overclocked, but we managed to squeeze a little more from the graphicscard. The core, stock at 675MHz, we increased to 747MHz while the 512MB GDDR3 RAM, stock at 1800MHz, was increased to 2088MHz.
Here are the results from Futuremarks 3DMark03, 3DMark05 and 3DMark06. For comparison we’ve used the results from the stock tests:
Conclusion: The BFG GeForce 9600 GT OC is a terrific graphicscard at a very good price. It’s not completely silent, but compared to some of the cards from the 8800 series, you’ve got nothing to be scared of. The BFG GeForce 9600 GT OC cooler only uses the slot the card is fitted in.
To sum up, you get a graphicscard overclocked from stock, supporting DirectX 10, PCI Express 2.0, Pure Video and audio trough HDMI. And since the BFG GeForce 9600 GT OC only costs about 1.200,- DKK, you definitely get something for the money – especially because the graphicscard has a better overclock potential than most other similar cards.
