The test continued

SiSoftware Sandra 2011

SiSoft Sandra is a benchmark program, that gives the opportunity to measure all the components in a setup. For this test, we have chosen it to test the CPU and RAM. The CPU has been tested in two different tests, Arithmetic and Multimedia. In addition, the RAM bandwidth has also been tested to see if the CPU and memory can exchange data fast enough to work fluently.

Unfortunately, we cannot compare the results with the other setups, as we tested this setup with SiSoftware Sandra 2011, and the other ones with the 2010 version.

(Translator's note: Dhrystone = GIPS - Higher is better. Whetstone = GFLOPS - Higher is better.)

This is some pretty good results from the Arithmetic test.

(Translator's note: Higher is better)

The Multi-Media test also shows some satisfying results, but again, it is not easy to judge as we do not have any other boards to compare it with.

(Translator's note: Higher is better)

The result is a bit higher here, than it was with the AIDA64 Extreme test showed, but still very good.

Cinebench

ASUS P8P67 has also been through Cinebench to see if the graphics card and the CPU together nicely with the rest of the system.

(Translator's note: Higher is better)

Here the ASUS P8P67 also shows some very good results all the way.

(Translator's note: Higher is better)

Cinebench R11.5 has only been tested with multi core option on the other setups, but ASUS P8P67 does a better job than them, and even with a very nice result. ASUS P8P67 also does a very good job in the single core test.

(Translator's note: Higher is better)

ASUS P8P67 also shows some good results with the OpenGL test. Here, the Sapphire HD5870 is also an important factor, so the results cannot really be compared.

HD Tach

HD Tach is used for measuring speeds and latency on the hard drive. ASUS P8P67 has both SATA2 and SATA3 controllers, all of which are from the P67 Express chipset. Furthermore, there is also and Marvel SATA3 controller. This is the reason why we have chosen to test all three parts, to see which one works the best, with a totally ordinary hard drive.

(Translator's note: Higher is better on both graphs)

The speeds are very similar, and it is only when testing the Burst Speed we experience any change. But a change of 2682 MB/s seems very unrealistic, and therefore this test has proven to be worthless.

(Translator's note: Lower is better on both graphs)

HD Tach is also used to test how fast the access time is, and how much it uses the CPU while in use. Here it seems like both SATA3 controllers does a better job than the SATA2 controller.

Power consumption

Lastly, we test the power consumption. The test is based on the whole setups power consumption in total, and not just one component. To test, Prime95 has been used to stress the CPU, while Furmark was used to stress the graphics card.

(Translator's note: ASUS P8P67 Power Consumption (The whole system). Lower is better)

The power consumption is very flexible, and is lowest at 65W in idle, while it keeps at 157W when the CPU is stressed. When we stress both the CPU and the graphics card, we hit 350W.
