Special features

Even though the Intel P67 Express chipset does not support USB 3.0, ASUS have chosen to integrate the function by the help of two NEC USB 3.0 controllers. Two for the front, and two for the back. This goes for the whole series of P8P67 motherboards from ASUS, except for the P8P67 LE. Furthermore, the Intel chipset already has already 12 USB 2.0 ports. Intel P67 Express already supports SATA3, but ASUS have already chosen to build a Marvell PCIe 9120 SATA 6Gb/s controller into the card. This means that there are two controllers. We will test both, to see if there is any difference. It also means that we have four SATA2 and four SATA3 ports on the board.

ASUS have also chosen to build in Bluetooth into the whole series, except for the P8P67 LE. This is called BT GO! and can be used for following: Shot & Send, BT Transfer, Folder Sync, Personal Manager, BT to Net, Music Player and lastly BT Turbo Remote which sounds most interesting. BT Turbo Remote makes it possible for the user to monitor the voltage on the different components, monitor temperatures, fan speeds and frequency of the CPU. It can also be used to restart and turn off the computer, and control a music player. But the funniest, and maybe most interesting thing, is that it can be used to overclock the components. 



As something new, ASUS have chosen to exchange the normal analog power design with digital. ASUS have called this DIGI+ VRM. This means that the power is more precise on every CPU connection. It is also to secure more precise overclocking possibilities and lower the temperature and wear on the components, so it runs more precisely. ASUS P8P67 also runs with a 12+2 power design. 

TPU and EPU is also to be found on the new P8P67 motherboards. ASUS have chosen to call this Dual Intelligent 2, because both of these chips can operate on the same time as opposed to the old Dual Intelligent that could only run one at a time. This means that you still can get one-click-overclocking, and be power saving with the EPU.
