Conclusion

ASUS have come with a line of new motherboards - ten in total with the P67 Express chipset, and 7 with H67 Express, and more will probably come as time goes. So we have looked at one of the boards with the new P67 Express chipset, and in this case it was the ASUS P8P67.

ASUS P8P67 is one of the cheaper motherboards from ASUS, just around 1200-1300 Danish Kroner. But it still have a lot of interesting features and functions, like USB 3.0 and EFI BIOS.

The Intel P67 Express chipset has just been released, so it is very hard to compare the test results to other motherboard's results. Nonetheless, P8P67 comes with some fantastic results, and the overclocking potential is also very good; this is also because of the fantastic Core i5 2500K. This was hard to see at first, but when we updated the BIOS, it resolved a problem with the overclock, and gave us an impressive 4,85 GHz.

ASUS have really made a nice motherboard to the price, and therefore it was no problem for us to give it a score of 80 out of 100.

Pros

  • The performance - both standard and overclock
  • Fast with BIOS updates
  • USB3.0
  • Digitalt VRM (DIGI+ VRM)
  • Fitting price

Cons

  • No SLI option
  • Limited overclock with factory BIOS
