THE TEST

Here, the three motherboards lie pretty close all together and a single winner cannot be concluded. As it is seen in the performed tests, the two motherboards build upon the Intel P35 chip are pretty close. So if one does to carry around ambitions of overclocking, there is no reason to choose the expensive Black Pearl model. On the other hand, if one wishes to obtain the best performance of one’s system, this test clearly depicts that the Black Pearl is the wisest choice.
WiFi The WiFi application of the board also deserves a comment. It is a clear bonus to have the possibility of using wireless network without having to buy a networks card. As the name of the board indicates, the WiFi module can be used both as a receiver of a wireless signal as well as an Access Point for other wireless units to connect to.
Unfortunately, the connectivity of the networks card is not as good as a conventional networks card, and it can often have a hard time of catching a signal.
CONCLUSION
The board is currently priced to around 1400 Danish kroner, which definitely isn’t much when considering the piece of hardware you get in return. The X38 chip is just around the corner and must be considered the greatest challenger of the P35, but unless you want the newest of newest, this reviewer recommends the P35 chip.
There is no doubt that the Asus P5K Premium/ WiFi-AP Black Pearl Edition is a good and solid motherboard with a lot of cool features, including the possibility of gaining extra performance from an Intel E6600.
