HDTach is used to measure the speed and delay on the harddrive. And when this board has SATA 6GB/s support we do want to test if the new controller performs better than the old SATA 3GB/s controller.
The three competitors are very close – no certain winner.
Cinebench R10 + R11.5
Let’s fire up Cinebench to see whether the GFX and the CPU can work together well enough with the rest of the system. Cinebench is a rendering program which is really good to make both CPU and GFX work at their maximum.
ASRock 880G Extreme3 is performance-wise the middle of the three motherboards. Cinebench R10 shows that the ASRock board is beaten by the other boards in pure CPU performance. Cinebench R11.5 tests the onboard GFX-chip (HD4250) and here ASUS really shows muscle and lays down the other boards while ASRock pulls home a victory on CPU performance.
