Components of an SSD and basic Relations




This might sound like a very trivial question but it seems that many people don't know for example that there is not a single company that manufactures SSD completely themselves. At least this is what the latest findings suggest. At this point we refer to the fact that it's being discussed quite controversially that OCZ uses Marvell controllers for their latest Vertex 4 SSDs. What we're going to do in the following article is, we will explain which components are needed to build an SSD and where the biggest differences are from a performance and endurance point of view.
