Et kig på Zotac Nitro boks til overclocking af grafikkort
Technic3D har ved Games Convention i Leipzig fået mulighed for at se på det kommende Zotac Nitro, der er en styre boks med display, der gør det muligt at ændre hastigheden for både core, shader og memory på Zotacs grafikkort!
On Friday we had the world-exclusive pleasure of being handed a pre-sample of the Zotac Nitro while visiting the Leipzig Games Convention. At first glance it may look like a portable entertainment device, but it’s something far different.
The Nitro is based on a VFD display and is connected to the computer via a USB port. The actual benefit of this device however is the fact, that users can change the shader and memory clock of their (Zotac) graphics card by simply pressing some buttons – even while playing a game or using any other application causing a need to the performance of the graphics card increase (or decrease it again later on). Once you reached settings out of the card’s limits you can reset it to its defaults with another button.
Furthermore the device is capable of monitoring the current core temperature and fan speed, the latter can be leveled directly with the device once you notice that temperature has reached a critical level.
The sample has not reached its final status yet, as the screen will receive another grey-ish layer to hide the fragments in the background.
MRP is set to 89€ in Germany and the device will be presented on monday at Nvidia’s Nvision in San Jose, CA.
The Zotac Nitro comes with a dock to place it in as well as a driver CD and a manual. Last but not least the necessary USB cable is included. It will be working with Zotac Nvidia graphics cards exclusively for the first time. When overclocking the card with the Nitro there will be no loss of the guarantee.
In our opinion the product might not really be interesting for hardcore overclockers as the device doesn’t offer a really new thing for it’s money. It might be of interest for the rather unskilled ones among is which want to have an easy but secure overclocking opportunity as the card shuts down once it’s running over its limits.
