One thing I have not touched on at all in this preview is the rating system. This was first introduced in WMP9, and I have to say I love it. This feature (for those of you who aren't already aware) automatically rates media based on how often you play it (you can also rate media manually) and creates a database of your media based on ranking, which it uses to generate playlists. My favorite part of this feature is the "4 and 5 star" auto playlist, which is, unsurprisingly, all the media in your library rated at 4 and 5 stars. I can play this auto list on random (it's pretty random anyway) and let it go for literally days without having to skip a song. Unfortunately though, this depends on the media in your system having a rating. All media is rated at 3 when WMP introduces it to your library. My biggest gripe about WMP10 beta, is that I already had a library of rated media, and my library was not preserved during the upgrade. All I had to do was search for media again, but all my ratings and auto playlists were gone. This was not too big of an inconvenience, since I tested WMP10 bets on my laptop, which has a pretty small library. On my desktop, however, I have a library of over 50GB, which I would not want to re index and rate.
