The new Gigabyte 3D Cooler-PRO is indeed a very powerful cooler judging from the results we've obtained in our test. Beating both the Cooler Master Aero 7+ and Thermaltake Volcano 7+ to the ground, this cooler is not only efficient in dissipating heat, but it's also less noisy than the two former solutions compared in this review.
Its cooling efficiency is the result of the heatsink's unique design which employs four heatpipes that draws heat away from the copper base. At the end of the heatpipes, you'll find tightly packed fins that further expands the surface area available for heat dissipation. The blower fan located in the center of these fins help direct air out of these fins uniformly, and this further improves the cooling efficiency of the cooler.
In addition to its unique design, the cooler comes with support for all of the current CPU socket systems, from Socket-462 (Athlon/Duron) and Socket 478 (Pentium 4) to Socket-754 (Athlon 64) and Socket-940 (Athlon 64 FX and Opteron). Besides that, the cooler is also equipped with the ability to control the fan's speed, especially useful for those who wants to control the noise emitted by the fan. Oh, it should also be every case-modder's dream cooler since there are four bright blue LEDs that light up during its operation.
