Due to a long period of a soft market plus struggling due to a price drop from major motherboard manufacturers, EPoX has determined to adjust its market strategy. After evaluation and a decision made by EPoX’s Board of Directors, EPoX decided to reform and restructure its US branch with this new opportunity.
Ferng continued, “signing an agreement with Northgate Innovations creates a win-win situation. Northgate benefits by EPoX’s long established brand recognition, product reputation, and existing human resources. EPoX’s US branch can reduce operational overhead and focus on wireless, IA, and IPC market development.”
Andy Teng, Northgate’s Chairman and CEO, views the EPoX co-op agreement as a logical step for both companies. Teng stated, “by combining EPoX’s brand recognition with Northgate’s outstanding service and sales and marketing, a new opportunity for a brighter future is created, leading to increased market share in the motherboard market in this territory in the near future. Northgate will work closely with EPoX Taiwan to further enhance the quality of EPoX’s product offerings as well as working to reduce the cost of the products. Northgate, on EPoX’s behalf, will provide service and warranty work for existing EPoX customers without interruption.” The two companies will remain financially independent.
