Der er sat ny verdensrekord for overclocking af Intels Ivy Bridge Core i7-3770K processor. Det er de to overclockere Mad222 og John222, der har presset et eksemplar af processoren på på de 7.2GHz.
Bundkortet er et Gigabyte Z77X-UP7. Selve processoren kører ved 1.908 volt og med en BCLK på 114.42 MHz. Og mon ikke der er brugt flydende nitrogen som køling?
A closer look at the screenshot shows, that the two overclockers provided their Intel Core i7-3770K CPU with 1.908 volt to get the maximum clock speed of 7'208.19 MHz. Another thing that is quite impressive is the BCLK of 114.42 MHz, which they were able to hit with this CPU and the Gigabyte Z77X-UP7 motherboard. Last but not least there is the number of activated cores and threads which is unusually high. The guys were able to reach these clock frequencies with four cores and four threads activated. This makes us wonder if there is still some potential slumbering within this CPU's transitors. Maybe running this chip with 1 core 1 thread enable will allow even higher frequencies.
