The mid-level zone Laedis of Infernum’s upcoming fantasy MMORPG Dragon’s Prophet takes players between level 31 and 40 to higher grounds. Laedis is a continent of floating islands, situated high in the clouds. Before the invention of flying ships, it was an extremely isolated place and the only Osira inhabitants were placed there by an Eternal Dragon, during the First Dragon War. While the Second Dragon War raged on, the continents were continuously fractured and Laedis was flung high into the sky, where it remains to this day.
Laedis’ capital city Arteicia lies at the foot of the hallowed Longra Mountain, the highest point of Laedis that is surrounded by nothing except sky. The capital does not only serve as the main center of trade for the locals and travelers but also hosts a portal that teleports players to the PvP and housing area, called Auratian Sky Archipelago, where they can challenge other warriors or build and customize their own domiciles. Giant flying airships frequently transport passengers from places like Glumar and Mangard to Underworld Port and Droan Town, another merchant village on the smaller island of Ornost, situated not far from the main island of Laedis. The citiy of Ishtar with its fishermen, Karuna’s Blessing and the Sea of the Lost with their breathtaking natural beauty also make for adventurous journeys.
However, heroes should not be tempted into overlooking the dangers of the floating islands. Not only unexpected gaps in the footpath that lead into oblivion should make sure that adventurers move with caution. Dragons lurking in the shadows of the Misting Jungle and other winged beasts wait for their prey in lofty heights, only to come diving down on their enemies.
