You have probably heard the old saying that the actual definition of insanity is repeating the same actions while expecting different results. That seems like a pretty simple idea without a lot of variables, but sometimes sense goes out the window when you repeat the same actions expecting the same results. After all, throwing water on burning wood puts it right out so you may expect the same result with a grease or oil fire, or even an electrical fire. Of course these will yield wildly varying results ranging from splattering spreading fire in the case of grease to possible electrocution with electrical fires. So, repeating that same action to put out the fire will not yield the same results.
