It is true most people don't need 16GB in their laptop. It is true DDR3-1600 does not provide a significant performance advantage over DDR3-1333; at least for dual core processors. It is true memory heatspreaders don't do much in a laptop, if at all. But guess what? As I have stated in my Kingston HyperX PnP DDR3-1600 2x4GB review, this product it did not get its 'plug and play' name for no apparent reason -- it works out of the box at DDR3-1600, even if your laptop does not officially support that speed. Secondly, the HyperX PnP SODIMM is looks exactly like a miniature version of its desktop counterparts. What can I say? We are all suckers for marketing to some extent. Thirdly, it does, in fact, improve performance by a margin. Surprise surprise. Throw all three puzzle pieces together, and what do you get? With the 8GB kit, I said you get a big e-peen. With the 16GB, you get a big e-peen... that is twice as big as before. With the Kingston HyperX PnP KHX16S9P1K2/16 2x8GB, the best just got better.
