When Nvidia introduced the GeForce GTX 680 earlier this year, it became quickly apparent the card was a juggernaut, not only in terms of gaming horsepower but also in the slew of features it brought along. The GTX 680 really shook things up, with features such as Adaptive V-Sync, a new antialiasing mode, and the ground-breaking GPU Boost. Promising nothing short of a groundbreaking new direction in how a graphics card functions within a system, Nvidia brought the goods, and we were certainly impressed.
Then along came the GTX 670, and it continued what its sibling started, and again we came away suitably impressed, as it made quick work of the AMD competition and was very well priced for what consumers got with their hard earned money.
Today marks the launch of the GTX 660 Ti, the latest in the Kepler family, designed to attack the mid-upper range of the gaming GPU market. The nomenclature of the card is a bit different, but we did see this approach on the GTX 560 Ti previous-gen card, so it’s not entirely surprising to see it make a comeback here. Regardless of the naming particulars, the GTX 660 Ti sports nearly the same architecture as the GTX 670, so we’re expecting big things today.
