Om Creative nogensiden får deres X-Fi til at virke med Windows Vista med APO og fuld acceleration med HD audio mv. må vi vente at se.
Og hvis det er rigtigt står det rigtig skidt til, men læs selv et uddrag her:
[PERSON A]... siger: because Vista has a new driver set for stability for all sound cards. so the hardware acceleration is not avaible
[PERSON A]... siger: in the very begining, Creative added decoders in Vista drivers. but it didn't work at all. so, after Beta5, the decoders have been removed.
[PERSON A]... siger: then they added a APO for stable work on vista.
[PERSON A]... siger: if you remove this, the decoders can be installed. but even though, it doesn't work.
[PERSON A]... siger: APO = Audio Processing Object
[PERSON A]... siger: anyway, they are going to add a new feature into RC4 drivers. "Alchemy" for games, which bring directsound3d.dll and .ini files to games folders and capture DirectSound to OpenAL to solve Vista's audio font issues by enabling hardware acceleration
[PERSON B] siger: so creative are giving up and leaving their byers in the mud
[PERSON A]... siger: i guess they have nothing to do with it
[PERSON A]... siger: Vista was designed not to support CL sound cards.
[PERSON A]... siger: Hardware acceleration will be enabled for games. but for home entertainment such as HD movies, HD music, it's shit.
