Trust introducerer netværk via stikkontakten

Trust introduces the Trust Easy Network Plugs: a simple, fast and attractive alternative to a wireless network. By using these plugs, the electrical power supply in every home can be converted into a network that can then be used to quickly and easily share the Internet.

Dordrecht (the Netherlands), September 2006 - The growing number of broadband Internet applications, such as Internet telephony, watching TV via the Internet and online gaming, is the reason of a growing demand for fast and stable Internet connections that are also easy to install. With the Trust Easy Network Plugs in the new range of Homeplug/Powerline network products, Trust introduces the solution to this problem

The network adapters combine the advantages of both a wired network and a wireless network in one product, without the accompanying disadvantages. The Easy Network Plugs are 100% Plug and Play compatible, because they do not require any complicated installation or configuration procedure. Every plug socket in the home can be used to connect to the network without having to lay cables or drill holes. Furthermore, there is no signal loss or data loss due to thick walls or electrical equipment. Undesired (wireless) access by outsiders is also not possible, because all the signals remain within the home. In order to expand or move the network, it is only necessary to insert another network adapter into a different plug socket or to move the network adapter to another plug socket. Practical tests have shown that the Easy Network Plugs are just as fast as a wireless network and they also perform better at greater distances.

There are two different speeds to choose from, namely 14 Mbps and 85 Mbps. The Trust NW-7400 Easy Network Kit 14 Mbps (www.trust.com/14812) is a set which consists of two network adapters that are ideal for sharing an Internet connection, for sharing files between two PCs, online gaming (PC and console), chatting and Internet telephony. It is possible to extend this set with a separate adapter, the Trust NW-7200 Easy Network Plug 14 Mbps (www.trust.com/14811).

The Trust NW-7800 Easy Network Kit 85 Mbps (www.trust.com/14816) can be used for all the applications described above, but is also suitable for users who wish to use a high-speed ADSL 2+ connection. This faster set of network adapters is ideal for connecting more than three PCs together and for watching Internet television. This set can also be expanded with a separate adapter, the Trust NW-7600 Easy Network Plug 85 Mbps (www.trust.com/14815).

The network adapters are compatible with all TCP/IP based network adapters with an RJ-45 UTP/STP connection. This means that not only PCs can be connected, but also games consoles (Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2 and PS3). Other devices, such as routers and digital video recorders, are also supported. Clear indicators on the adapters display the connection status.

See www.trust.com/products/info/homeplug for more information about the advantages and uses of Powerline networks.
